Event Details:

Help us fill up our balsam bank this year by removing this invasive, non-native plant from our riverbanks, paths and fields. By autumn, we hope to deposit 500,000 plants into our ‘balsam bank’, giving much needed space to native plants so they can survive and thrive.

Come along and find out more about this pervasive invasive and let us inspire you to have a go at bashing some balsam yourself.

All the family can take part and help us to remove Himalayan Balsam from Dalston’s riverbanks. It’s super easy to pull and we need to do it before the plants gets too big. It can grow to over 2m tall! Tea and cake on tap to keep up the energy levels!

All are welcome, no experience necessary and no equipment needed. Join us for a rewarding, fun and invigorating way to spend your day! And by pulling out invasive, non-native Himalayan balsam, you’ll be helping to protect our rivers and native wild plants. It’s easy, fun and a good workout!

All ages – under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
