Event Details:

Following our summer series of eight walks, we’re bringing you four more opportunities to explore the Eden catchment, enjoy the changing landscape, and spend time outdoors with friendly, like-minded people. These walks are gentle, guided experiences designed to help you slow down, enjoy being outside, and discover new places across the Eden. Each walk offers a chance to connect with nature, explore the landscape, and enjoy good company as the seasons change.

Overview

On this walk we follow the River Lowther from Shap Abbey along the C2C route towards Rosgill, before returning along the opposite bank to create a beautiful circular route.

The route offers wonderful views of the River Lowther and the eastern fells, with the historic remains of Shap Abbey providing an interesting starting and finishing point. There will also be an opportunity to look around the abbey, which has free entry.

This walk is ideal if you enjoy being outdoors but don’t always know where to go, or if you’d like some encouragement to explore more of the Eden countryside. It’s a chance to enjoy the river, fell views and local heritage while walking in good company.
