Please meet at 10am at the quarry entrance off Fairybead Lane at What3Words:///scarecrow.hoofs.suiting No knowledge or experience is needed and there is no need to book - just dig out some gardening gloves (pref waterproof) make sure you’re wearing long sleeves and trousers and come along to help reduce the spread of this troublesome invasive through the quarry.

  • What to wear: Old clothes are best! We highly recommend long-sleeve tops and trousers, as you might be pulling out balsam amongst nettles and thistles. Please wear sturdy shoes or wellies, and bring thick waterproof gardening gloves to protect your hands.
  • What to bring: A packed lunch, drinks, gardening gloves, and sunscreen or waterproofs just in case.
  • Ages: All ages are welcome, although the activity is not very suitable for young children.
  • Accessibility: The site is fully accessible by foot, with uneven ground in places.
  • The reward: Hard work deserves a treat, so we will provide the cake!
