Event Details:

Following our summer series of eight walks, we’re bringing you four more opportunities to explore the Eden catchment, enjoy the changing landscape, and spend time outdoors with friendly, like-minded people. These walks are gentle, guided experiences designed to help you slow down, enjoy being outside, and discover new places across the Eden. Each walk offers a chance to connect with nature, explore the landscape, and enjoy good company as the seasons change.

Overview

On this walk we’ll head from Carlisle city centre along the River Eden to Engine Lonning, one of Eden Rivers Trust’s newest sites.

Leaving the busy city centre behind, we’ll follow the Hadrian’s Wall Path along the river, taking in a view of the Waverley Viaduct before stopping to look around the Engine Lonning site. We’ll then make our way back towards the city, returning via Carlisle Castle.

This walk is ideal if you’d like to discover more of the river and green spaces on Carlisle’s doorstep. It’s a chance to enjoy the River Eden, discover one of Eden Rivers Trust’s newest sites, and see familiar parts of the city from a different perspective.
