What could I volunteer for?

Here is just a flavour of what you could be doing, depending on the time of year. Take a look at our latest opportunities for more information.

  • Join one of our regular work parties (usually on a Thursday or Saturday) and plant trees and hedges, bash invasive, non-native Himalayan balsam, clean up riverbanks/litter picks, tree maintenance - removing tree guards and checking that new trees are thriving.
  • The Eden Community Tree Nursery is an accessible site in the heart of Penrith where you can help with practical maintenance, lay new paths and build poytunnels and/or develop your green fingers caring for our growing trees! Join us on a Tuesday afternoon or Friday morning for our regular sessions. Biscuits and brew included!
  • Wildlife and habitat surveys. Get to see more of our beautiful countryside and rivers and help build our data and knowledge about our wildlife and habitats so we can design meaningful programmes of work to enhance and protect them.
  • Be an ambassador for the trust and help out at public events spreading the message of healthy rivers ... or if you prefer to work behind the scenes there are lots of ways you can help support our team!

Whatever time you can spare makes a huge difference; whether it's once in a while or every week, your help will help us reach our goal of healthy, sustainable rivers for all.
