Water Works: Smarter ways to manage water on your farm

Date: Thursday 10 November | 4-6pm or 7-9pm | Penrith

This is the latest in our Water Works series of free events for all farmers in the Eden catchment. This time we are focusing on exploring smarter ways to manage water on the farm to cut costs and improve and protect water supplies.

This practical workshop will be led by Andy Dyer, who, as well as being ERT’s Senior Farming and Conservation Manager, also practises as a land agent and agricultural adviser.

Using plans of your own farmyard (we can supply on request), in this practical workshop you will work with us to find out how to:

  • achieve good clean and dirty water separation within the farmyard.
  • potentially reduce the amount of water going into your slurry store or dirty water system.
  • prepare information such as yard drainage plans to potentially save you money when making future grant applications.

The workshop will be held twice at 4-6 pm and 7-9 pm, choose which one you would like to attend.

A light supper will be provided for all attendees at 6.15 pm (please let us know any dietary requirements when you book).

Book your place now by emailing hilary.clarke@edenrt.org or call Hilary on 01768 866788.
