Come and find out what all the fuss is all about this fast-spreading, invasive, non-native plant. Pick up tips on how to pull balsam effectively and help to (literally) stamp out a big patch of balsam at the same time….for good!
Suitable for everyone. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Wear gloves (gardening ones are best if you have them) and long-sleeved tops/trousers. Bring drinks and snacks to keep you fuelled while you bash. We’ll be running two sessions at each site from 10am – 12pm and from 12:30pm – 2:30pm. Do come along and join us whether you stay for an hour or the whole day.

*For communities in Long Marton, Warcop and Dacre, we’re sorry but we won’t be visiting you this weekend as initially planned. We’ve visited the sites and the Himalayan balsam in these areas is now on the retreat and looking too sparse for a full community bash at the weekend.
