We warmly invite you to join us for our annual get-together to celebrate the people and projects that are making Eden’s rivers better places for people and wildlife.
It’s a packed day of talks and trips that will give you an insight into the work being done by ourselves and our partners to enhance and protect rivers in this part of the Eden catchment.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
Tickets to our Supporters’ Day are FREE as we want to make this day accessible to everyone.
If you would like to help towards the costs of making this day possible, there is an option to make a donation when you book your ticket(s) – thank you for your support.

Join us at Petteril Bank Community Centre to hear from ERT staff about some of the main issues our rivers are facing and what we (and you) can do to help! Members of the team will be on hand throughout the day to talk about our work and answer your questions over a brew or lunch!
Then, we’re delighted to hand over to our keynote speaker, traveller, photographer, Tom Warburton to present a photo and video diary of his incredible 1100km trek from the source of the River Ganges in the Himalaya to its confluence with the Yamuna at the city of Prayagraj.
After lunch, you’ll get the chance to go on one of five field trips in the local area that includes projects led by our staff or our partners plus other great projects celebrating and protecting Eden’s natural heritage that we think you’d enjoy!
1. Engine Lonning’s hidden history
Explore Engine Lonning, one of the Access to Eden project’s doorstep sites and its hidden histories. From Roman times, through the industrial ear as a railway yard and hub, to modern day urban woodland haven.
2. River restoration and natural flood management
A chance to visit a mature river restoration project site (completed in 2021) near Cumrew in the Lower Eden and see what happened after we returned a straightened river channel to its natural course.
3. Gosling Sike – farming and nature in harmony
Named after a small tributary of the River Eden, Gosling Sike is an organic working farm and the site of Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s (CWT) northern office. Enjoy visiting a wildlife garden that’s buzzing with life; walk though pasture, wetland, and woodlands to see farming and nature working in harmony.
4. Explore the Petteril Valley and its wildlife
Join us on a hunt for the hidden creatures that live in our rivers and learn about the solutions for river restoration and natural flood management that will allow protection of the railway and footpaths, creation of wildlife habitat and the improvement of this well-used community green space.
5. River restoration at Wallacefield
Come and join us on a farm walk to see the river restoration site at Wallacefield farm near Armathwaite. This marks the first river restoration undertaken as part of the Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges project, where we returned a perched and straightened channel to its natural course.
