Big Balsam Bash Daleraven Bridge

Everyone is welcome at our Big Balsam Bash weekend lets get together and get rid of this invasive, non-native plant from our riverbanks and footpaths!

Join us at Daleraven Bridge between Glassonby and Armathwaite for a few hours pulling out invasive, non-native Himalayan balsam to protect riverbanks and native flowers! It’s easy, fun and a good workout! Stay for an hour…or until 2.30 pm!

All ages – under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Details:

Meet: at Daleraven Bridge10.30 am. Parking is limited please car share (get in touch to receive/help with a lift) if possible. Look for us in our high-viz vests with ‘Eden Rivers Trust’ on the back!

Wear: old clothes – long-sleeve tops, trousers, waterproofs and gardening or work gloves (we can lend you some!) Covering arms and legs is important as you might be pulling out Himalayan balsam near nettles and thistles! Wear wellies or sturdy shoes/boots.

Bring: drinks, hats, sunscreen and waterproofs (just in case) and lunch if you plan to stay all day.
