Appleby-in-Westmorland, Hoff and Great Ormside walk

A walk with a castle, two churches, two rivers, two water mills and a waterfall.

Route: Appleby – Bandley Bridge – Hoff Beck – Hoff – Rutter Falls – Great Ormside – river Eden – Appleby

Update: July 2024 – we’ve had a report that this route is very overgrown in parts and the steps down to the Eden may not be safe. Please take care if you decide to undertake this walk.
