A Wild Woodland at Engine Lonning

Date: 24th July | 1pm - 3pm | Engine Lonning

Have fun exploring the ‘wild’ woods with local nature experts, who will help budding nature detectives of all ages discover some of the woodland’s weird and wonderful wildlife. Find out for yourself what makes Engine Lonning so special that it is designated as a ‘Local Wildlife Site’.

Where to meet: Engine Lonning lies to the west of Carlisle city centre, next to the River Eden, just downstream from where the River Caldew flows into it.

Please note, there isn’t any parking at, or near the woodland site. Please walk or use public transport to get here. Find us in the clearing at the end of the lane accessed from main entrance.

What to Wear: old clothes – long-sleeve tops, trousers, waterproofs, sturdy footwear. 

What to Bring: drinks, hats, sunscreen and waterproofs (just in case).
