We have just launched our latest online auction to raise the vital funds needed to protect and improve Eden’s rivers to make them better places for people and wildlife.
We have teamed up with fundraising platform, Givergy to offer over 110 wonderful, wild and occasionally quirky lots for people to bid on, thanks to the generosity of our charity’s supporters and local companies. For the first time, there are also a selected number of ‘buy it now’ items.
With bids starting at £10 and many under £100, there’s something for everyone, from experiences money can’t buy to locally-made products to treat yourself (or your friends and family!)
A flavour of some of the items you can bid on include digger hire, a swim safari (with the View from the River swimmers), badger watching at RSPB at Haweswater, guided walks and an Eden Yard luxury gift box.
Why bid? Elizabeth Radford, our CEO explains why:
“Rivers are our lifeblood. We rely on them for clean water, food, leisure, health and our well-being. Pollution from sewage and run off from agricultural land, habitat loss, changing climate and increased demand for water all continue to take a toll on our rivers!
Your bids will help raise vital cash to do the practical conservation work needed so that the water runs clear in Eden’s rivers, and we have landscapes filled with habitats that clean up water running off fields, reduce flooding and provide homes for more of the wildlife we all love to see.
Our rivers need you more than ever so please get bidding!”
Bidding closes at 11pm on Saturday 18 May.
