River Eden

How our charity operates

Meet our team of professionals and volunteer trustees, who, armed with specialist skills and knowledge gained from a wide variety of sectors and industries, work together tirelessly to make the River Eden, its tributaries, lakes and landscape a better place for people and wildlife.

A man stands smiling at the camera. It is a cold, sunny winter's day and he is wearing a thick blue waterproof coat. Behind him are jagged fells bathed in sunshine.

Our board is made up of a dedicated group of volunteer trustees who bring a rich mix of expertise and experience to guide our work.

Representing a wide range of sectors—including business and finance, farming, culture and heritage, academia, and the wider community—our trustees ensure that our strategy is grounded, inclusive, and forward-thinking.

Their diverse backgrounds help us stay connected to the communities we serve while maintaining strong governance and accountability in everything we do.

Our staff team

A woman holding a small fishing net is crouching in a shallow river to examine the contents of the net.

We’re a multi-disciplinary team that thrives on collaboration.

Our collective expertise spans the environmental sector, farming, commercial industries, education, and the charity world.

By working together and drawing on the full breadth of our team’s strengths, we design and deliver projects that create meaningful value for our partners and the communities we serve.
