Permanent full-time position. This post could be a ‘secondment with a view to becoming permanent’ or a 4 day week for the right candidate.
Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: £37,500 – £40,000pa (pro rata)
Eden Rivers Trust (ERT) seeks an experienced and strategic senior conservationist to drive forward our conservation operations; improving and protecting the rivers within the Eden Catchment. If you are seeking a challenging leadership role in a superb location, this post could be ideal for you.
The River Eden catchment has long been at the centre of innovative river restoration and water-friendly farming initiatives, and since the major floods of 2009 and 2015 it has also been a UK target region for developing natural solutions to flood management. These complex overlapping agendas provide many opportunities to deliver sustainable catchment management on a large scale, and Eden Rivers Trust seeks a dynamic and ambitious individual to help us do just that.
Based in Penrith, the post holder will work in the scenic rolling countryside of the Eden Valley and where it intersects with the north eastern Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines.
You will be at the heart of Eden Rivers Trust, the charity Rethinking Rivers for Good. We are changing conversations, finding ways to work smarter and inspiring and empowering others to do the best for our rivers. We believe in partnership, creativity and flexibility, and we are not afraid to challenge and of being challenged. We are rooted in the Eden – working at ground level with land managers and the community.
If this way of working appeals to you and you have experience in developing and managing complex projects that deliver sustainable change on the ground; managing teams; solving catchment management problems; securing grant funding; operating at the management level and engaging and influencing a variety of stakeholders, then this could be the ideal role for you.
For an informal discussion about the role please call Elizabeth Radford on 01768 866788
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including under-represented groups.
