Event Details:

Bash, thrash and mash an invasive plant from the Himalayas that’s taking over! An instantly rewarding and very important activity that will help protect Eden's flora and fauna. Let's get together and get rid of this invasive, non-native plant from our riverbanks!

This is a new site for ERT volunteers and we’re sharing our pulling power with the local community to encourage more people to get involved and help remove balsam in a strategic way downstream from the highest point that it occurs. If you haven’t been out with us yet - or even if you’ve never bashed balsam before - this is your chance to join in at a site where we can really make a difference.

  • Venue: Warcop
  • Dates: Thursday 4th September
  • Times: 10am - 3pm

Suitable for all ages - under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Booking

  • If you already volunteer with ERT and are signed up to the ERT volunteer management system, 'Team Kinetic', please register attendance via 'Team Kinetic'.
  • If you're not signed up with Team Kinetic or new to volunteering with us then please send an email to [email protected] or phone us on 01768 866788 to let us know you'd like to come along. We'll need to know the name and date of the event, name(s) of participant(s), a contact phone number and any additional needs that you may have. It helps us with our event planning and keeps you up to date with any changes we may need to make to times, locations or activities.

What to Wear: old clothes - long-sleeve tops, trousers, waterproofs and gardening or work gloves (we can lend you some!) Covering arms and legs is important as you might be pulling out Himalayan balsam in nettles and thistles! Wear wellies or sturdy shoes/boots.

What to Bring: drinks, hats, sunscreen and waterproofs (just in case) and lunch if you plan to stay all day.
