This farm walk is being hosted by the River Petteril and River Lowther and Leith Facilitation Funds in conjunction with Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
We will cover how we can begin to evaluate Natural Capital values relating to carbon on our farms, learn a bit about peat bogs, agroforestry and to build on the knowledge gained from our previous sessions on Natural Capital.
There will also be a visit to Eycott Hill Nature Reserve, Berrier by kind permission of Cumbria Wildlife Trust (weather permitting)

12pm Buffet lunch followed by a farm walk and talk with Imogen Rutter at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve (weather permitting) who will talk us through how we can assess areas on our farms to enhance carbon sequestration by means of hay meadow management, woodland/scrub creation and management of upland peat bogs and mires.
If the weather is too wet and windy to visit the reserve we will remain at the Sportsmans Inn where Imogen will give a short presentation about the reserve and the work that has been undertaken to enhance its Natural Capital value.
