Everyone is welcome at our Petteril Vale Balsam Bash. Lets get together and get rid of this invasive, non-native plant from our riverbanks and footpaths!

Join us for a few hours pulling out invasive, non-native Himalayan balsam to protect riverbanks and native flowers! It’s easy, fun and a good workout!

All ages – under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Details:

Meet: Meet us by the river below Petteril Bank. (U18s must be accompanied by an adult). Parking is very limited. Please walk or use public transport

Wear: old clothes – long-sleeve tops, trousers, waterproofs and gardening or work gloves (we can lend you some!) Covering arms and legs is important as you might be pulling out Himalayan balsam in nettles and thistles! Wear wellies or sturdy shoes/boots.

Bring: drinks, hats, sunscreen and waterproofs (just in case) and lunch if you plan to stay all day.
