Go Wild Beat No20 River Caldew, How Gill
1100m of right bank fishing
This is a fantastic section of the Caldew, which has been left largely untouched. Access is difficult in parts and there isn’t that much casting space but there are some intriguing pools and runs, with both wide and narrow sections.
This section has not been frequently fished but should have some decent, ‘very wild’ brown trout, and perhaps even the occasional salmon!
Go Wild is our innovative roving voucher angling scheme. We have 28 challenging fishing beats spread throughout Cumbria’s beautiful Eden valley. The beats are all on private land, accessible only via the Go Wild scheme and are all real hidden gems.
Go Wild has been designed to provide a sustainable income for farmers and landowners, focusing particularly on stretches of river where habitat improvement work has been carried out.
