River Action Day: Himalayan Balsam Bash

Thursday, July 27, 2017 - 10:00 to 15:00

Thursday 27 July
10am-3pm
Caldbeck

At the request of local residents we are going to be helping to tackle an outbreak of the invasive non-native plant, Himalayan balsam, upstream from the village of Caldbeck.

This plant has spread along river banks and is excluding our native plants from large areas. It is easily pulled out and, as this site is the furthest upstream in the River Caldew system, it is an important site to get under control. With your help we can push this plant away from the Lake District fells in this area.

This is a beautiful quiet part of the Lake District to spend a day and you would be helping to rid it of this invader. If you can help please do get in touch.

To reserve your place, please get in touch with Paul Greaves, River Action Group Coordinator by emailing paul@edenrt.org or call 01768 866788.
